For our corporate video I decided to work in a group with Sophie Gollop and Magda Gaik. Our first original plan was to create a corporate video for The Marine Aquarium in Lyme Regis. However, due to Sophie being Ill me and Magda decided to find another client who would be a lot closer to us so it would be easier for us to arrange a date to film. We chose a commonly loved brand ‘Uk Nails” which is located in Exeter Guildhall which is just a small walk from the CCI building at Exeter College. Uk Nails is a nail salon which also offers a large range of beauty treatments for example, massages and waxing.
In our corporate video we had the idea to make the salon appear relaxing and bright and show the range of treatments that they have to offer. We spoke to the owners of Uk Nails and after pitching our original idea they were very pleased with the overall idea of what the corporate video will look like. The only ask they had was to include their new mirror nails which they have now been doing for around 3 weeks because they thought this would be a brilliant way to advertise the new nail effect and to reach out to more customers.
Other ideas we have for the video are to show how the staff engage with the customers and also how pleasant the overall atmosphere of the salon is. The Staff at Uk Nails have a lot of different certificates which we also wanted to include because it shows their experienced. Uk Nails agreed to let Myself and Magda chose the background music. We will find some calm relaxing royalty free music to add to the video and also include a voiceover to describe some of the treatments whilst they are being shown. We will also include a wide variety of of different shots so the video isn’t boring to watch, this is also involves only making the video 2 mins long because we know the average person will switch off if the video is any longer.
This is a corporate video that we have found for The nail and beauty bar. They use very calm music and a large variety of camera angles and shots which makes everything more interesting to watch. They show the different treatments and the happy engagement between staff and clients which makes you believe that this is a welcoming and professional beauty bar. They include a panning wide shot which shows how big and tidy the salon is and also the different products they use for each treatment. This will mean potential customers can watch this video and decide if this is the salon for them. The general women tends to pick and stick with a nail salon/ beauty bar because they know what the salon offers is what they wish for, Therefore by showing on film the treatments taking place they can see the professional finish of the treatment and decide if they would like to visit and pay this salon. They also show a lot of different clients which tells the potential clients that this is a popular salon and therefore the professional standards are clearly good. Finally, they also added short clips of certificates which shows that they’re experts in what they are doing, this ensures the clients that they’re in good hands. ( pardon the pun )
